This “Circle” started with the Chagatay reading course at Lanzhou University, which was originally offered as a temporary measure under the Covid-19 epidemic prevention. From July 2021, with the end of the university semester, this group changed its framework and decided to restart as a monthly online reading community. This community primary aims at creating a welcoming space for students(or various “senior” students) to engage with Manuscripts written in Chaghatay Turkic language, with various written works or documents being read & discussed each time.
